Some Friends of Ours:
Ask the Pastor
It is summertime and many travel and go on a vacation. Have you ever been to a favorite place and thought to yourself; “wow, this is beautiful, I wish I lived here. I could live here forever?” My wife loved the ocean and dreamed of ocean front property. I love the mountains. My brother-in-law lives in Alberta and when I visit him, every morning I wake up and look west to the towering, majestic mountains that seem to be calling me to them.
Some people love the hustle and bustle of city life, and they prefer that type of life; whereas others love the solitude of being alone in a more natural environment.
God has given us places and things to enjoy while here on earth, but things change and most often, not for the better. One day this life of ours will be over and we will be going somewhere to spend eternity.
There are only two prepared places in eternity; heaven and hell. Matthew 25:41 in the Bible says, “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.’” This tells us if we don’t accept God’s only plan of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ; Then we will spend eternity in a place prepared for the devil. God doesn’t want anyone to go there. II Peter 3:9 tells us God, “is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
So, God has prepared a much better place for all who come to Him in faith through Jesus Christ. John 14:2,3 says, “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am there ye may be also.”
So, God had two prepared places for eternity, and He is patiently calling you to come to heaven to be with Him. Have you answered His call yet? He is earnestly calling you today!!!
